Former AC Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini believes the Rossoneri are still developing as a group and a third place finish is attainable goal.

The 43-year-old says the success of the squad is dependent on the commitment of not only the players but also coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“Milan are a work in progress but this goal depends on Inzaghi and the players,” he told Tuttosport.

“At this time, any team that manages to find the correct equation can aspire to the Champions League,” he said.

The Italian is convinced that struggling forward Fernando Torres, needs only time to adapt to the playing style of the Serie A and show his full potential.

“Time is needed to see the real Niño,” he continued.

“Let’s not forget the fact that in England and Spain, they play football in a more open way, more so than in Italy.

“[Fernando] Llorente is a concrete example of what Torres can do,” he said.
