Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli and his agent Mino Raiola are attempting to persuade his current club to allow him to leave for a six month loan to Napoli.
Balotelli has only played for the Reds since late August but has struggled to establish himself, scoring only two goals and none of which in the English Premier League.
According to Calcio Mercato, Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has always admired the 24-year-old and feels that the Partenopei supporters would welcome the deal.
Balotelli was a linked to a return to Inter under new coach Roberto Mancini, but after a negative reaction from their supporters, the Nerazzurri abandoned the idea.
