Inter youngster Federico Bonazzoli has praised coach Roberto Mancini following the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw with Lazio.

The 17-year-old came on as a substitute in the draw with Lazio, and played a direct role in the Nerazzurri’s equalising goal when his free-kick fell to goalscorer Rodrigo Palacio.

“To be honest, I did not expect to take the free-kick,” he told Sky. “[Roberto] Mancini told me to take it.

“I thank him for giving me the needed confidence, and now it is my job to repay that faith.

“I’m improving thanks to him, he focuses on the strikers a lot.”

“Our youth system as a whole is really good.”

Bonazzoli then went on to speak about his preferred role on the field, whilst also saying that his idol is Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“My role, I consider myself as a striker,” he said. “However, I’ll play anywhere for the first-team.

“My idol is Ibrahimovic.”

Inter end the first half of the 2014/2015 Serie A season in 11th place.
