When the transfer window reopens in January, Sicilian cousins Palermo and Catania are considering a surprising double swap deal with Rosanero duo Claudio Terzi and Eros Pisano heading east, while Nicolas Spolli and Fabian Monzon would find themselves back in Serie A.

After the two clubs past each other during subsequent promotion and relegation campaigns last term means they are not currently direct rivals for Serie A demotion as in previous seasons and more open to the exchange.

The deal, reported by Sky Sport Italia, would see Palermo offload two players that have only appeared 10 times in Serie A this season combined.

However, with Catania sitting 17th in Serie B the move will ensure a far quicker return to the Italian top-flight for Spolli and Monzon, with the club continuing their on the pitch struggles of last year.
