5-1 Europa League win at Copenhagen can provide a turning point for the Granata’s fortunes in Serie A.

Toro ended a run of seven matches without a win in all competitions to qualify for the Round of 32, and the Italian international is now looking to replicate the success in Serie A.

“Hopefully the great victory tonight is the turning point that we have been looking for a long time,” he said. “We now want to enjoy the milestone we have reached, that of the next round.”

Darmian then went on to speak about the prospect of facing Ajax in the next round, who overcame Torino in the 1992 UEFA Cup Final on away goals.

“We came second in the group and could face Ajax, a team that evokes many memories for Granata fans,” he said.

Torino travel to Empoli on Monday evening having failed to record a win at the Stadio Carlo Castellani in either Serie A or Serie B in eleven attempts.
