Fiorentina have registered interest in acquiring the services of Shakhtar Donetsk defensive midfielder Fernando.
The 22-year-old Brazilian’s impressive performances have attracted interest from the Viola as they look to reinforce their midfield come January.
According to La Nazione, Fiorentina will look to secure a loan deal with an option to buy, as they deem Shakhtar Donetsk’s asking price of €9 million as too high.
Fiorentina have previously tried to sign the player in the summer of 2013 only to eventually see the midfielder join Shakhtar in an €11m transfer.
However, if the Viola cannot reach an agreement with the Ukrainian outfit, they will try to sign an alternative in Ruben Pardo from Real Sociedad.
