Fiorentina are poised for a busy winter, with a number of players expected to walk through the revolving door in the new year.

The Viola currently sit in eighth place in the Serie A standings, despite struggling earlier in the season domestically, but have been in imperious form in the Europa League.

La Nazione report that with the contract talks stalling between the club and Alberto Aquilani, the Viola are continuing to track Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernando as a possible replacement.

The club have also drawn up a shortlist of potential forward reinforcements, with Juventus’ Sebastian Giovinco and Corinthians and ex-AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato the frontrunners.

Expected to leave the club are fringe members Mounir El Hamdaoui, Oleksandar Iakovenko and Octavio, with all three ready to be released if a suitor cannot be found in January.

Young Australian international Joshua Brillante is also expected to leave the club, but only on a temporary basis, with Serie B side Spezia leading the chase.
