Fiorentina have targeted Genoa midfielder Andrea Bertolacci, who is also co-owned by Roma, as a transfer target during the January transfer window.
Fiorentina’s midfield is aging, most notably 35-year-old holding midfielder David Pizarro, and La Viola believe they need to refresh the squad with younger legs.
According to Tuttosport, Fiorentina see Bertolacci as a more energetic central midfielder replacement for Pizarro who could leave the club at the end of the season.
If Fiorentina are serious about signing Bertolacci they will have to work quickly as it has been rumoured that AC Milan see the 23-year-old as a potential transfer target.
