Mihajlovic - SampdoriaSampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic could not hide his disappointment after conceding a stoppage time equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Napoli on Monday night in Serie A.

Substitue Duvan Zapata grabbed an equaliser for the 10-man Partenopei deep into stoppages to cancel out Eder’s opener, but the Blucerchiati boss believes his side deserved to win.

“Considering we dominated the match, I think drawing like this hurts everyone,” the 45-year-old tactician told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“We deserved the win, but football is like that and against a big club you get punished at the first distraction.

“Napoli threw everything they had at us, four strikers and the goal was probably our first mistake as Djamel Mesbah didn’t follow Zapata.

“I cannot reproach my lads for anything, as they gave their all. They gave their all.”

“Once again today we proved that we can play on a par with anyone. We are missing that little something to beat a big club.

“It’s disappointing for the lads, but if we keep playing like this and improve our mentality away from home, then we can go far.”
