Palermo coach Guiseppe Iachini has praised opponents Sassuolo ahead of their Saturday evening match at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Serie A.

The two sides are separated by just one point in the league table, and both are in fine form with the Rosanero unbeaten in their last six matches while the Nerovderi last loss at the beginning of October.

“I do not count Sassuolo among the lower ranked teams,” the 50-year-old tactician said during his pre-match press conference.

“They are a great team after the investments they have made in recent years and the quality of their staff.

“If Simone Zaza and Domenico Berardi are out, Sergio Floccari and Antonio Floro Flores can come in. This says volumes about the quality of the team.

“We will need concentration and attention to detail to earn a positive result against a team with quality, experience and knowledge.”

Iachini also discussed counterpart Eusebio Di Francesco’s attacking approach.

“He is a guy who is demonstrating his value as a coach, pursuing a tactical philosophy that he believes in,” he continued.

“He also used the three-man defence, but the 4-3-3 is giving him satisfaction.

“He started with a formation that appealed to me, but then also considered the characteristics of the players and you have to follow a tactical path to enhance their quality.

“We would take a step forwards in terms of enthusiasm and confidence with a win against the Neroverdi.”
