Sampdoria’s Angelo Palombo feels that coach Sinisa Mihajlovic possesses a coaching gift following his side’s 1-1 draw with Juventus on Sunday.

The Bianconeri took an early lead through full-back Patrice Evra, but a second half Manolo Gabbiadini strike ensured the Blucerchiati were the first team in 25 to leave the Juventus Stadium having avoided defeat.

“When he arrived we were on the ground but he has a great gift to first understand the situation,” Palombo told Rai Sport.

“He gave birth to new approaches; both on the field and in our mentality.

“He knows when to really push us in training and when to ease off.”

Palombo also noted the importance of both Stefano Okaka and Gabbiadini this season, the latter of which is being heavily linked with a move away from Samp.

“Gabbiadini is an important player for us, not only on the pitch,” the midfielder stated.

“He is having an extraordinary season for us, despite the transfer rumours, and so is Okaka.”

Mihajlovic has received many plaudits so far this season and his Sampdoria side currently sit in fourth place in the Serie A table.
