Pioli heaps praise on Lazio players after Atalanta win

Lazio coach Stefano Pioli lauded his players after their 3-0 win over Atalanta and stated his intension of staying near the top of the Serie A table.

The Biancocelesti moved up to third place after their victory over La Dea on Saturday and Pioli expressed his satisfaction with the victory and made it known that he and his team intend to stay in the top five of the table.

“We played with intelligence, maturity, and were consistently commanding the game and created several chances,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia

“The team did well and deserved the victory.”

Following his two-goal performance, Pioli was full of praise for captain Stefano Mauri

“He has great intelligence and is among the best,” the tactician said. “He is doing very well a consistently creates scoring chances for his teammates.

“Tomorrow, I will watch the matches calmly. We want to stay in the top five.”

Prior to several games on Sunday, Lazio stand tied with Genoa with 26 points and sit behind only Juventus and Roma.
