5-1 win against nine-men Copenhagen at the Telia Parken stadium on Thursday evening.
The Granata recovered from conceding an early goal with a double from Josef Martinez and goals from Amauri, Matteo Darmian and Gaston Silva.
Toro had previously lost five away fixtures in a row between Serie A and Europa League football.
Copenhagen
Stephan Andersen – 5 – Unanswerable
Helpless to prevent Copenhagen suffering their heaviest home defeat in the Europa League. Did make an excellent save to deny Martinez a hat-trick before Darmian scored Torino’s fourth goal.
Daniel Amartey – 5 – Persistent
€2.5 million summer-signing from Allsvenskan side Djurgarden was rewarded for early pressing from right back as he gave the Loverne the lead, blocking Glik’s clearance that looped into net.
Mathias Jorgensen – 4 – Guilty
Followed central defensive partner off the pitch before the break after being shown his marching orders by Russian referee Vladislav Bezborodov for pulling down Amauri inside the penalty box.
Mikael Antonsson – 4 – Fallible
Former Bologna central defender struggled to cope with the pace of Martinez and was shown a straight red card for a desperate lunge on the Venezuelan when through on goal.
Tom Hogli – 5 – Endless
Was a willing runner from left back. Joined Copenhagen earlier this year after contract expired at Group B rivals Club Brugge.
Danny Amankwaa – 5 – Restricted
Denmark Under-21 international scored his first Superliga goal against league leaders FC Midtjylland last Sunday, but had to spend the majority of the match defending.
Thomas Delaney – 5 – Beleaguered
Irish-American club captain had to fill in as an emergency centre back following the red cards.
Claudemir – 5 – Competent
Good in possession playing short passes before giving way to debutant Lindbjerg.
Youssef Toutouh – 5 – Dejected
Another Denmark Under-21 international, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder lost confidence in the second half and began to misplace passes.
Nicolai Jorgensen – 5.5 – Creative
Striker was dangerous dropping into deep positions on the left side and played an excellent cross-field pass for Amartey on the opening goal.
Steve De Ridder – 5 – Tireless
Worked hard pressing the Torino back three and tracking back.

Torino
Daniele Padelli – 5.5 – Nervous
Had an unsettling opening to the game and was nervous when kicking, but was largely uninvolved following the red cards on his tenth all-time appearance in European competition.
Nikola Maksimovic – 6.5 – Elegant
Provided the assist for the important equalising goal, playing a direct ball over the top as he brought the ball out from the right side of defensive back three.
Kamil Glik – 6 – Unfortunate
Tried to clean up the miscommunication between Moretti and Silva for the opening goal, but Amartey slid in to block his clearance and the ball ricocheted into the back of the net.
Emiliano Moretti – 6 – Efficient
Got in a mess with Gaston Silva at the beginning of the match, but was comfortable along with the rest of the defence for the remainder of the match.
Matteo Darmian – 7 – Commodity
Scored his second European goal with clinical right foot volley. The only Toro player to have started all six games in the Europa League group phase.
Cesare Bovo – 6.5 – Dedicated
Made a notable sliding tackle when the game was still competitive in the first-half on his 29th European appearance.
Alessandro Gazzi – 6.5 – Appreciative
Described playing in the Europa League as “the high point in his career” during the pre-match press conference, and enjoyed a historic night as the Granata progressed to the Round of 32.
Omar El Kaddouri – 7 – Provider
Exploited spaces in the second half and played an excellent through pass for Martinez’s second goal as well as flicking on a cross for Gaston Silva on the Granata’s fifth.
Gaston Silva – 6.5 – Mixed
Was at fault for opening goal playing a reckless sideways pass that was closed down by Amartey, but provided great crosses from left wing back and also scored his first goal for the club with an emphatic finish.
Josef Martinez – 7.5 – Catalyst
Became the first Venezuelan to score in Serie A last Saturday since Massimo Margiotta for Perugia against Brescia in 2003-04 season, and was the catalyst for Toro getting finding the net with a emphatic left foot half-volley for the first goal and coolly lifted ball over Anderson for his second.
Amauri – 7 – Composed
Scored his first goal since the 2-0 win against HJK Helsinki in October after winning and converting penalty after Jorgensen red card.
Substitutes
Fabio Quagliarella (58 mins) – 6 – Accomplished
Scored winning added-time penalty in first meeting with Copenhagen, but was introduced in very different circumstances for Martinez with Torino 5-1 ahead.
Pontus Jansson (60 mins) – 6 – Comfortable
Summer signing from Malmo had plenty of time at centre of back three with Glik moving to the right side.
Giovanni Graziano (66 mins) – 6 – Debutant
19-year-old Primavera player was eager to receive the ball from defensive midfield position on his Torino debut.
