Qarabag narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout stages of the Europa League following their 0-0 draw with Inter in their final group stage clash.

There was late controversy in the match with the Azerbaijani side seeing Richard Almeida’s goal wrongly disallowed, therefore sending Dnipro through to the next round.

Qarabag

Ibrahim Sehic- 5.5- Solid

Made several key saves to keep his side in the match and was always alert.

Maksim Medvedev- 4 – Average

The 25-year-old didn’t offer much going forward yet was able to track back and defend well. However the Azerbaijani national struggled to contend with D’Ambrosio.

Badavi Huseynov- 5 – Good

Attempted to come forward on every occasion and provided support for Medvedev in dealing with the feisty D’Ambrosio.

Rashad Sadygov- 5.5 -Solid

Prevented Osvaldo from having a great influence for the Nerazzurri and was consistent in defence.

Ansi Agolli- 5 – Settled

The Albanian linked up well with Muarem yet rarely came forward. His cross set up Richard for the eventual disallowed goal in injury time.

Gara Garayev- 5 -Consistent

Was key in providing good cover for the defence and prevented the Italians from threatening much in attack.

Richard- 4.5 -Keen

Had his goal disallowed in the final stages of the clash due to an offside call. Came forward on every occasion yet was slightly eager and played the ball in too early.

Namik Alasgarov- 4.5 -Eager

Showed tenacity and continually came forward with pace. Yet the lack of quality in possession prevented him from creating excellent chances.

Leroy George- 6.5 -Threatening

Continually came forward with blistering pace and constantly terrorised the Inter defence. George had several shots on goal yet could not find a way past Carrizo. Easily the best player for the Azerbaijani side.

Muarem Muarem- 5.5 -Clever

Made several excellent passes that outwitted the Nerazzurri defence and created numerous scoring opportunities including a near miss by Alasgarov.

Vuqar Nadirov- 5 -Average

Was not affective as a lone striker and was not given proper service. He was replaced late in the first term due to a hamstring injury.

Substitutes

Namiq Yusifov- 4.5 – Quiet

Replaced the injured Nadirov and had a deep role but did little with possession.

Ilgar Gurbanov – 4 -Uninvolved

Was eager to contribute for his side yet a quality end product was lacking.

Inter

Juan Pablo Carrizo – 6 – Average

Made one clear save in the match following a strike from George, otherwise untroubled.

Isaac Donkor -5- Shaky

It was the 19-year-old’s European debut and he appeared unsettled. He was out-paced on several occasions by George but fell into a rhythm in the second half.

Hugo Campagnaro – 6- Solid

Solid presence in the Inter defence as his veteran presence was needed on the night for the young Nerazzurri.

Marco Andreolli – 6- Consistant

Ever the consistant defender, the Italian on occasions lacked pace to keep up with George however was able to read the play well and always remained one step ahead.

Danilo D’Ambrosio- 5.5- Eager

The Italian had a lively match and sought to come forward at any opportunity, however he was not able to register higher quality chances due to the lack of proper service.

Joel Obi- 5- Missing

Did not adequately assist the Nerazzuri attack or defence yet did win several free kicks for his side.

Yann M’Vila – 4.5 – Silenced

Offered little in attack and defence as he failed to provide good cover for the backline. His only real contribution was a late intervention.

Rene Krhin- 4- Wasteful

The Slovenian international was crucial in minimising the space for Qarabag’s midfield to create, yet was careless with his passes. Missed a fine chance in the opening 10 minutes.

Ibrahima Mbaye- 4.5- Subdued

Offered very little in attack and going forward yet was crucial in tracking back to help defend.

Dani Osvaldo- 5- Lethargic

The Italian played a deeper role in the clash due to the lack of adequate service for the attack. Demonstrated glimpses of his talent when he had possession, in what was otherwise a quiet night for the 28-year-old.

Federico Bonazzoli- 5.5 – Energetic

The 17-year-old Italian created numerous chances for the Nerazzurri. His late shot on goal after a long and pulsating run, forced a save by Sehic.
