Udinese new StadiumUdinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo has said the stadium renovations that are currently on going will help bring positive changes to the club.

Udinese have been the only tenants of the Stadio Friuli since 1976, which currently sits just over 40,000 people, but is limited to 30,000 at the moment due to building work taking place.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Pozzo said, “We have had a good history, but we want to get better and better.

“With the new stadium we want to start a new era, more suited to the characteristics of European football,” he added.

The current main stand will be refurbished, while the north and south stands will be completely rebuilt over the athletics track, with the remaining east stand bringing the construction to an end by next summer.
