Sampdoria are reportedly looking to land Udinese striker Luis Muriel during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, whose current contract with the Zebrette is set to expire in June 2018, has failed to score in his 11 Serie A appearances this season thus far and has been sidelined with an injury for several weeks now, but it seems Blucerchiati president Massimo Ferrero would still be interested in signing him this winter in order to bolster his side’s attack.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria have already launched negotiations with Udinese for the Colombian international and are apparently pushing to permanently sign him in January.

The striker has left the Stadio Friuli outfit twice on loan since joining the club from Deportivo Cali in 2010, first moving to Granada during the 2010-11 season and then to Lecce for the 2011-12 campaign.

Muriel has scored a total of 15 goals in his 57 league appearances for the Udine side since his arrival.
