Virtus Entella could only muster a 1-1 draw against Modena at the Stadio Comunale on Tuesday night in Serie B.

Modena took the lead through captain Davide Zoboli but Entella got a well deserved equaliser through Gianluca Litteri.

The away side took an early lead when Zoboli was left unmarked in the box following Luca Nizzetto’s corner and the skipper headed it past Andrea Paroni.

Entella came back with a reaction and nearly equalised in the 20th minute. Andrea Mazzarani had two chances to score but both were saved brilliantly by Carlo Pinsoglio.

Michele Russo also could have equalised minutes later but his effort was also denied by Pinsoglio.

Riccardo Nardini then capitalised on an error from Stefano Botta and tried his luck but it was well saved by Paroni.

Pinsoglio was the saviour again for the Gialloblu in the 38th minute when he stretched to is right to thwart Litteri’s effort from the edge of the box.

It was only a matter of time before the hosts scored and the inevitable happened two minutes later. Litteri met Mazzarani’s cross and headed to the far post to finally beat Pinsoglio.

The second half was a lot more quiet with less chances being created by both teams until around the 70th minute mark.

Francesco Signori tried his luck but his effort went narrowly wide of the Entella post.

A minute later, Stefano Beltrame, who had just come on the pitch hit a well struck shot that was saved well by Paroni.

Despite the Diavoli Neri having the lion-share of attempts and possession the game ended in a draw. Ultimately their second half performance is what let them down but they do move further away from the play-out positions..

As for Modena, they move closer to the play-off positions so all in all not a bad result for both teams.
