Ivan StrinicDnipro Dnipropetrovsk defender Ivan Strinic has confirmed that he will be completing his move to Napoli on Monday and admits that he’s looking forward to working with Rafa Benitez.

The 27-year-old, whose current contract with Dnipro is set to expire on December 31, is set to join the Partenopei on a free transfer and will reportedly sign a three and a half year deal worth around €1.6 million per season if he passes his medical.

Strinic spoke to Slobodna Dalmacija about his upcoming move to Napoli and expressed his excitement to begin playing for the San Paolo outfit, while also commenting on why he chose the Neapolitan side’s offer over others.

“There’s still a medical but if all goes well, and there are no reasons to prevent this from happening, then I will be a Napoli player on Monday,” said the Croatian international.

“It’s a great new challenge. There were other offers but the one I had received from Napoli was the most concrete.

“I can’t wait to play for the Azzurri, I’m recovering from an injury and I want to secure my place as soon as I’m at my highest level of fitness.

“For me, working with Rafa Benitez is a source of pride.”
