Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt turned down the chance to join Atalanta, as he holds out for a return to AC Milan.

The 25-year-old Morocco international has failed to make an impact in England this season, struggling to fit into manager Harry Redknapp’s plans.

According to The Daily Mail, Taarabt has turned down the chance to join Stefano Colantuono’s Atalanta and favours a return to the San Siro with Milan. Taarabt spent six months on loan at Milan last season, scoring four goals during 14 appearances.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Lens attacking midfielder has made no secret of his desire to leave West London, Taarabt’s public spat with manager Harry Redknapp over the players fitness at the start of the season has left the player out of the QPR reckoning in recent months.

The playmaker’s current contract at QPR runs until 2016, with the club keen on a permanent transfer ahead of any loan move.
