Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo said the referee made serious mistakes during Udinese’s 2-0 defeat to Milan.

Milan were awarded a penalty in the second half for Domizzi’s push on Honda. The defender was sent off for the foul and Jeremy Menez made no mistake from the spot to put Milan 1-0 up. Menez added a second goal ten minutes later to put the game beyond doubt.

Speaking to Mediaset Premium, Pozzo said: “When I learned of his [Valeri] appointment, I got stomach ache.

“In the last two or three years, he has committed serious mistakes against us, I was hoping that the story could be different but that was not the case.

“I have no problems with referees, they have improved a lot in the last six to seven seasons. But there are two or three elements that require improvement, one being Valeri.

“For me it is a penalty, but aftewards there was a foul on Badu that was not punished. The referee was not clear and consistent, perhaps refeering against a big club influenced his decisions.

“Right now I would say simply, a refree can not compromise a game and perhaps Valeri wanted to be a phenomenon. I do not understand the expulsion of Domizzi. I have respect for all, but there is need for the referee to reflect on such mistakes. We lost due to a mistake of the referee. ”

The owner was also quizzed about the potential contract renewal for Antonio Di Natale

“We already have a contract for the next season, everything has been settled.”
