Torino coach Giampiero Ventura was full of praise for his Granata side as they secured their spot in the next round of the Europa League after a 5-1 thrashing of Copenhagen on Thursday night.

The convincing victory came after falling behind early, but two goals from Josef Martinez, Amauri, Darmian and Gaston Silva gave Torino their highest goal tally in Europe since 1991.

“The game tonight is confirmation that this group of players can do very good things,” Ventura stated while speaking to the club’s official website torinofc.it.

“We went one goal down, but we continued to push hard throughout the game.”

Torino finished second to Club Brugge in Group B which means they are through to the Round of 32 of the Europa League, and will be in the draw which will take place in Nyon on Monday.
