Werder Bremen’s 23-year-old Italian defender Luca Caldirola has been linked with a return to Italy.

Genoa and Torino are reportedly very interested in the player while Fiorentina are also monitoring the situation in Germany.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Werder Bremen still regard Caldirola as an important player but may be forced to sell the Italian on account of Die Werderaner’s struggles in the league, with the club sitting second from bottom with 14 games played.

Genoa and Torino are both thought to be very interested in the player while Fiorentina remain an interested party looking in from the outside.

Caldirola himself is thought to be willing to consider the idea of a return to Italy as he looks to progress with his career.

The defender has made three Bundesliga starts for Bremen during the 2014-15 season and he scored his first goal in Germany in a 5-2 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on December 7.
