AC Milan are reportedly closing in on Atletico Madrid defender Guilherme Siqueira and hope to land him before the end of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has apparently become a main target of the Rossoneri in recent days due to a growing list of injuries in their defensive department, which now includes Daniele Bonera and Mattia De Sciglio, and it seems like the San Siro outfit may most likely be his next destination this winter despite some serious interest from Juventus.

According to the Corriere della Sera, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani would like to make an offer for the Brazilian left-back as soon as possible, but is still waiting to receive permission from Diavolo chief Silvio Berlusconi to go ahead and begin negotiations.

Reports also show that Juve have had their latest loan bid for the former Udinese man turned down by Los Colchoneros, which has caused the Milan side to be viewed as the favourites to secure his signature.

Siqueira joined Atletico Madrid from Granada in June 2014 and has provided one assist in his 13 Primera Division appearances since his arrival.
