Liverpool’s Italian striker Mario Balotelli has compared team mate Steven Gerrard to Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo following the news that the captain of the Anfield club will leave when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
Both the Reds and the player himself, who is now 34 years old, have confirmed that this season will be his last in the Premier League and he is being linked with a move to Major League Soccer in the United States.
“I think Gerrard is at the same level as Pirlo,” said Balotelli, as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb.com.
“Vision, technique and power are among his main qualities.
“Steven can do it all, he is an impressive player.
“It will be difficult for the club to find another player like him in the future.”
