Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia believes his side have proven a point by beating AC Milan with a numerical disadvantage for the entire second half.
The Aquile led through Biglia’s penalty on the 37th-minute, but had to defend their lead with only 10-men after Lorik Cana was sent off in first-half stoppage time.
In seeing through their 1-0 win, Lazio reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals, and the Argentine believes his side have proven their strength.
“The team has proven a point: to be strong even when we are outnumbered,” the 28-year-old told Rai Sport.
“We have begun on the right path to success, and have to continue in this fashion.
The Biancocelesti have reached the semi-final stage of the Coppa Italia for the first time since lifting the trophy in 2012/13, and Biglia is firm in believing this is a team effort.
“This is less about my own great form and more about the team’s great form.”
