Antonio Cassano has threatened to retire from football following his release from Parma.
The 32-year-old agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with the Gialloblu following non-payment of his salary, thus he is now a free agent.
“Parma took piss out of me for seven months,” he told Mediaset Premium. “The whole team don’t get a penny. We don’t know who the president is, and I gave up €4 million to get out of the contract.
“I have received offers from MLS clubs and from the Emirates, but I will only go there when I’m 40 and not able to run anymore.
“I’ll see what happens now. If nothing happens I’ll wait until June. If nothing happens in June, then I’ll retire from football.”
Cassano’s former club Bari are also rumoured to have contacted the player about a fairytale return to the club where he burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old.
