Napoli’s Walter Gargano is satisfied with his team’s hard fought away victory over Lazio as the Partenopei retain third place in the table.
The visitors took the lead early through Gonzalo Higuain and despite being under pressure for large periods of the game the southerners managed to cling on to secure the three points.
“We knew the difficulties of this game,” Gargano told the press following the match. “Lazio are a great team but we came here to win and we did just that.”
“We were happy to be able play on the counter and there are no regrets that we could not score more goals and finish off the game. Higuain? Our attackers were not only important for what they did further up the pitch but also for helping out with defence.
“The league? We are just thinking about the next game.”
Napoli are joint third with Sampdoria on 33 points after 19 rounds of Serie A action.
