Inter striker Mauro Icardi, who welcomed his daughter Francesca into the world yesterday, could be bringing his child up in the Spanish capital as Atletico Madrid remain extremely keen on bringing him to the Vicente Calderon this summer.
Pablo Osvaldo’s Inter tenure looks set to last no longer than the duration of his loan spell after a spat with Icardi in a recent fixture with Juventus but the Nerazzurri may soon be planning for life without the Argentine too.
However, he would not be averse to staying at San Siro which is why his agent opened talks with Inter on Sunday about a contract extension until 2019, according to reports in Tuttosport.
But the gap between Icardi’s demands and what the club is offering at present seems to be significant and there are fresh disagreements over the player’s image rights.
He is currently earning in the region of €1 million per season and Inter could turn instead to using him as a makeweight to bring in Mario Suarez from the Spanish champions.
The Rojiblancos value Suarez in the region of €15m, more than the Beneamata are willing to pay and they could offer Icardi in the summer as part of a player plus cash deal.
