Juventus coach Massimilano Allegri is trying to bring in a playmaker in the January transfer market with Xherdan Shaqiri and Wesley Sneijder the top targets.

It is thought that the Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their attacking midfield options with this area seen as a priority for Allegri.

Tuttomercatoweb.com reports that Bayern Munich’s Shaqiri, who will be allowed to leave the club in January, and Sneijder of Turkish club Galatasaray are top of Juventus’ wishlist.

Switzerland international Shaqiri has been a frequent target of the Serie A side radar but with Bayern asking for €25 million for the player, it seems he will be out of the financial reach of Juventus.

As a result, the Bianconeri are pressing harder for Sneijder, who is available for a much cheaper price, and possibly even a loan deal, as Galatasaray want to lower costs and remove the high earners from their side.

However, the fact that Sneijder’s contract with Galatasaray is until 2016 and the Dutchman commands a salary of €6 million per season may also be out of Juve’s reach.
