Lazio have completed the signing of AZ Alkmaar’s Wesley Hoedt and Sporting CP’s Mauricio Nascimento is set to join the Biancocelesti on loan for the remainder of the season.
Hoedt, 20, will join Lazio in the summer transfer window on 1 July whereas Mauricio will undergo a medical with the club ahead of linking up with the squad immediately.
Lazio announced the deal for Hoedt on their official Instagram account on Wednesday. Sporting CP announced the departure of their player on their website stating that it would be initially on loan with the view to a €2.65 million move at the end of the season. The Portuguese side also stated that they will hold a 20% sell-on clause if the 26 year-old leaves the Rome club.
Mauricio signed for the Lisbon giants in 2013 after sealing a move from his native Brazil after he enjoyed a number of stints with various sides.
Hoedt is a highly promising Netherlands U-20 international and only made his professional debut for AZ in December 2013.
