Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic will miss the next 40 days due to an injury to his left knee.
Lulic pulled up at the beginning of the second half in Lazio’s 3-0 victory over Sampdoria on Monday and had to be substituted.
According to Sport Mediaset, Lulic suffered a second-degree tear in his left knee and following an appointment with team doctor Stefano Lovati, is set to miss just over a month off action.
The 28-year-old will be out of the Derby della Capitale against rivals Roma on Sunday, a vital away match to Napoli, who are tied in third place with the Biancocelesti, and an away match against AC Milan.
Lulic has started all but one Serie A match during the 2014-15 season and has scored four goals as well as having three assists.
