Lazio have raised their bid to €2 million for AZ Alkmaar defender Wesley Hoedt, who has a contract that runs out at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Dutch youth international has established himself as a first team member of the Eredivisie outfit this term, impressing onlookers with his performances.

With the defender failing to agree a new deal with the club, AZ have decided to exile him from first-team football in recent weeks and he looks certain to be sold this month.

La Corriere della Sera reports that Lazio director Igli Tare wants to wrap up a deal for the talented defender, and has upped his offer to €2 million.

AZ look to be content with the offer, and the deal could be completed by the end of the week.

Hoedt has made 12 appearances in the league this season for AZ.
