Liverpool are being linked with a €35 million offer for Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain.
Having being pipped by Inter to the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri, Liverpool have turned their attention to Higuain, with manager Brendan Rodgers identifying the Argentine as a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Higuain endured a difficult World Cup and has struggled to match the impact of his first season in Naples, The Sunday Telegraph report that The Azzurri would be willing to let the 27-year-old leave having already brought in a replacement in Manolo Gabbiadini.
The move is dependant on the Anfield club offloading mis-firing striker Mario Balotelli, who has reportedly been offered to Juventus, as well as being linked with PSG.
