Former Inter striker Diego Milito feels that coach Roberto Mancini is the right man to lead Inter to a victory when they clash with the Serie A leaders Juventus on Tuesday.

The Argentine striker had inspired a victory in Turin two seasons back, scoring twice in a 3-1 shock win for the Nerazzurri which ended the home side’s unbeaten 49-game streak in Serie A, and has backed the new head coach to record a similar feat on Tuesday.

“Every game is different. It was right to have the attacking attitude that night which surprised Juventus, it’s a great memory as we collected three points at a stadium where no one had won,” he told Tuttosport about the 2012 win.

“The Inter dugout has an experienced coach in Mancini who understands the game well. Inter have already won in Turin against Juventus with him.”

The Argentine also remains confident that Inter can enjoy Europa League success and reach the top three this season, though he acknowledges the competition.

“I hope that they’re able to get there,” said the player about Inter’s top-three chances. “When you wear the Nerazzurri shirt you have to try to achieve every goal, including winning the Europa League.

“The Bianconeri are the strongest side, although Roma will fight for the Scudetto until the end.”

Milito also feels that German striker Lukas Podolski, who is set to join Inter, will be a good prospect for the Italian club.
“He’s a good player and I hope he’ll do well at Inter.”

Diego Milito won Serie A, the Champions League and two Coppa Italias with Inter during his five year stint which ended in 2014.
