donati bayer leverkusenNapoli are reportedly looking to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen fullback Giulio Donati in the summer as the German club are keen to keep him for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old is seen as an ideal replacement for the ageing Christian Maggio who is out of contract with the Partenopei at the end of May.

Leverkusen could be prepared to allow the player to return to Serie A and according to Sportmediaset it will take place during the summer, rather than January.

The same media outlet also believes that although the German side are interested in taking Napoli’s Gokhan Inler, there will be no player swap and negotiations would be held separately for the two players.

Donati began his career with Inter where he made a solitary appearance before loan spells with Lecce, Padova and Grosseto. In June 2013 he opted to move to his current side for a fee of around €3 million.
