Napoli the largest recipients of World Cup prize money in Italy

Callejon - Cesena v NapoliNapoli will be Italy’s largest recipients of benefits from the 2014 World Cup thanks to an agreement between the ECA (European Club Association) and FIFA.

An estimated figure of $70 million will be distributed to 396 clubs around the world in recognition of the 736 players who participated at Brazil 2014.

According to ECA, 25 Italian clubs are expected to receive close to$8m from benefits from the 2014 World Cup and Napoli are the biggest recipients with about $1.1 million being allocated to the Partenopei.

Juventus are the biggest recipients from the Big Three in Italy and the Bianconeri are entitled to just over $1 million.

This revenues are not just restricted to Serie A clubs because teams from Serie B and Lega Pro as well as Serie D side Robur Siena are also entitled to some benefits.

Bologna are largest recipients from Serie B with about $298,000 and Novara are the biggest earners from Lega Pro with about $16,333.
