Juventus have reportedly made progress in their attempts to sign Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto.

The Brazilian goalkeeper will either be sold in January or move on a free transfer in the Summer, although he will likely have to sit on the bench for six months if he wishes to leave for free.

“ACF Fiorentina must announce that goalkeeper Norberto Murara Neto today officially informed the club of his intention not to prolong his contract with the Viola,” read a statement on Fiorentina’s official website.

“The decision is definitive.”

“Neto was keen to make it known that his decision is entirely unrelated to financial motivations, with his desire to be free to decide his own future the sole reason behind his move.”

Roma and Premier League side Liverpool are both reportedly interested in the 25-year-old goalkeeper.

However, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve directors Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici have sprung into action upon hearing the news that the player will not stay at Fiorentina and are very keen on taking him to Turin on a free transfer.

Neto made 16 appearances for the Viola in the first half of the 2014-15 Serie A season and kept seven clean sheets.
