Sinisa Mihajlovics Sampdoria put in a dominating second half away against Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini Sunday afternoon, easily winning 2-0.

After a goalless first half, Sampdoria were able to grab two goals in the second against the Gialloblu with Argentine Gonzalo Bergessio and Italian star Roberto Soriano each finding the back of the net.

The first half saw both teams coming out quick, creating a couple of chances on both sides.

Just four minutes in, Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang was forced out to the right but was able to pull the ball out and cross it into the box towards Brazilian striker Eder. Eder then looked to be pushed down in the box but there was no call by the referee who quickly told the striker to get back up.

Six minutes later, Sampdoria keeper Emiliano Viviano cleared the ball out of his area straight to the feet of Obiang who then sprinted towards Parma’s net, taking a hard, left footed shot that was blocked by Parma defender Andrea Costa.

At the 22nd minute mark, Sampdoria pressed again when Viviano punted a pass directly to Eder who controlled nicely and lifted the ball over the heads of the Parma defence into the path of a sprinting Alfred Duncan. The Ghanian was able to get off a hard left footed shot which forced a brilliant save from Parma keeper Antonio Mirante.

Minutes later, Parma were finally able to create a great chance inside Sampdoria’s box when midfielder José Mauri crossed a low ball inside the box straight the foot of Massimo Gobbi who one-timed a hard, low shot straight at Viviano, forcing a good save from the keeper.

The second half saw Sampdoria start to take control of the match. At the 54th minute mark, Italian Soriano played a beautiful through ball into the path of a running Eder who crossed into the box to the feet of Bergessio chipping the ball over Mirante and scoring his first goal this season in Serie A.

A few minutes later, Eder was taken down a fair distance outside the box by Gabriel Paletta and awarded a free kick. Eder took a hard shot straight at Mirante who fumbled the ball but was able to gain control.

But just 10 minutes later, Sampdoria doubled their lead after Duncan made a bursting drive into the box, passing across goal to Bergessio who hit the post but had the rebound put in by Soriano making it 2-0 for the Blucerchiati.

Parma pushed to cut the lead and in the 83rd minute, Andrea Rispoli put in a cross from the right straight to the foot of Raffaele Palladino who would one-time his shot over Sampdoria`s net.

Sampdoria was able to hang on for the final minutes and keep a clean sheet, while Parma remain bottom of the table and now nine points from safety.
