Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski looks set to join Inter after arriving in Milan for talks on Friday.
The German World cup winner, who has endured a difficult time in London has become the Nerazzurri‘s key target after they were unable to secure the signing of Alessio Cerci.
Upon his arrival, the 29-year-old talked up the Serie A and did not disguise his main desire for he duration of the season.
“I know Italian football, it is an important league,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I want to help the team qualify for the Champions League. We are now in the Europa League, and we will now see how we’ll go.
“To the fans, I would say that I am happy to be here. Go Inter and let’s hope for a wonderful season.”
Podolski has repeatedly stated his desire to leave in order to get more first team football.
