Real Madrid join the race for Roma midfielder

Real Madrid have joined the growing list of admirers that are keen on signing Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.

The 24-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico, although the Giallorossi are keen to keep hold of the midfielder.

According to reports in Corriere della Sera, neither Manchester United nor Real Madrid have been put off by the claims that Roma will refuse to sell and are both prepared to bid for the player.

The Spanish giants are even prepared to use their strong financial backing and outbid anyone who stands in their way.

However, Roma president James Pallotta has already said once that they are not thinking about selling the player.

“Kevin will not be going to Manchester united,” said the Giallorossi president when he was previously asked upon the issue.
