Porto defender Rolando has emerged as a potential January signing for Juventus as Massimiliano Allegri looks to add some pace to his defensive options.

The 29-year-old has spent time in Serie A before with loan spells at both Napoli and Inter meaning the Portugal international could fit the criteria the Bianconeri are interested in.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Porto would not be willing to let the transfer go through until Rolando has signed an extension to his current contract with Portugal’s most successful club.

Juventus’ offer is believed to be in the region of €4.5 million in the summer on top of a €500,000 loan fee now, Porto are concerned the Old Lady will try to renegotiate the deal with Rolando’s contract due to expire in 2016.

Rolando made 29 appearances for Inter during the 2013-14 season, scoring four goals before returning to the Lisbon based club.
