Roma striker Marco Borriello is set to make the switch to Genoa, with confirmation expected imminently.

The 32-year-old’s move to the Rossoblu looked unlikely last week after the player himself denied rumours linking him with contact elsewhere, but it is now believed that he will be finishing the season under the leadership of Gian Piero Gasperini.

The seven-times capped Italy international has agreed a five-month contract with the Serie A outfit, according to Sportmediaset.

Roma’s final confirmation is now the only detail preventing the transfer from becoming concluded, but an official announcement is expected in the coming hours.

Borriello scored 12 Serie A goals from 28 appearances while on loan at Genoa in the 2012/13 season.
