Former Fiorentina goalkeeper Giuseppe Taglialatela believes that Norberto Neto’s rumoured departure from the club cannot be blamed on the management.

The 46-year-old played for the Viola from 1999 to 2002, and is critical of the situation which escalated the player’s disenchantment with the club.

“For me, Neto was wrong because Fiorentina gave everything”, stated the current chairman of Lega Pro outfit Ischia to FirenzeViola.it.

“The club remained focused on him despite his grumbling, and even with this he turned his back. It didn’t seem like the correct attitude.

“I think that in any case, Neto is not a great goalkeeper. In general, I prefer Italians.”

The Brazilian has been strongly linked with both Juventus and Liverpool in this current transfer window.
