AC Milan loanee Pablo Armero is reportedly nearing confirmation of a switch to Genoa.

The defender is on loan at the Rossoneri from fellow Serie A side Udinese, but has failed to force his way into coach Filippo Inzaghi’s first-team plans of late.

It has been reported in recent days that Milan had agreed to terminate his loan should they be allowed to sign the Grifone’s Luca Antonelli.

Now that Antonelli will officially be playing at the San Siro, there is nothing preventing Armero’s next career move.

Should the deal be confirmed before Monday’s transfer deadline, the Colombian will join Genoa on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.

With the 28-year-old’s contract with Udinese up in the summer, Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini would be free to offer the player a deal upon the expiry of the current loan transfer.
