Juventus coach Massimilano Allegri has expressed his unhappiness at the way his side defended corners in their 3-1 win against AC Milan on Saturday night.

The Bianconeri came out as winners in the game against Filippo Inzaghi’s men, but the former Cagliari coach expressed his unhappiness at the way his side conceded from a corner, as well as saying that his side must finish off their chances.

“We played well, but we gave way four corner kicks and we weren’t focused when defending them, and one of them ended up in the goal,” he told Sky.

“We were dangerous in attack but at the same time we were a bit careless when defending corners.

“When we had to move more to the left we moved to the right and vice-versa, when other sides do not get clear chances to score then set-pieces are the only way you can concede goals.”

“Most of the 10 goals we have conceded this season have been counterattacks due to us losing possession such as the game against Inter, and tonight it could’ve happened with the [Giampaolo] Pazzini chance.

“We must be very clinical and finish off our chances.

“Milan are a really good team, and they played well tonight; sometimes things seem easy and you tend to relax, but this didn’t happen.”

Allegri then went on to speak about former side Milan, who currently find themselves in ninth place in the Serie A table.

“Milan have a great team and they had a great winter transfer market,” he said. “Do not forget that many players are missing.

“They have some great players and I think they will compete for a European qualifying spot.

“It’s a difficult time for them, but by keeping calm they can get back to winning ways.”

Juventus’ upcoming game will be away to Cesena on February 15.
