Fiorentina legend Gabriel Batistuta has revealed that he’s in good health despite recent reports claiming otherwise.

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez had added fuel to the rumours regarding the former Viola man’s deteriorating physical condition after telling El Pais that the ex-goalscorer has been barley able to walk as of late due to his worsening ankle problems, though the 46-year-old has denied this.

Batistuta spoke to Lady Radio about his current condition and cleared up the false reports surrounding his well-being, reassuring Fiorentina fans that he’s still in good shape.

“I’m fine, just as I was the last time I had visited Florence,” said the Argentine, who spent the largest part of his career playing for the Gigliati from 1991 until 2000.

“I wanted to reassure all of the Fiorentina fans, and football fans in general, about my physical condition.”

The former striker scored a whopping 168 goals in his 269 league appearances for the Viola during his time in Florence before moving on to Roma, where he won his only Serie A title during the 2000-01 season.
