AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi praised the new raft of Italians who joined the team and expressed his ambition for a more ‘Italian’ Rossoneri.
Berlusconi spoke to the team on Friday morning, during his visit at Milanello, Milan Channel reporting on Berlusconi’s comments.
“Italians, young people, and future [Italy] internationals,” Berlusconi said.
“I am very glad you are here [Mattia Destro].
“And you [Cristian Zaccardo] you have not missed a beat.”
Berlusconi concluded his speech referring to AC Milan’s new transfer policy, which began in January, to bring more Italians in the team and promote a new wave of future homegrown stars.
AC Milan currently have 18 Italians in the first-team squad, and fielded five Italians in their starting lineup against Juventus last week.
