On-loan Parma forward Cristian Rodriguez has admitted he was oblivious that the club are failing to pay its players’ salaries.
A mass exodus has taken place at the Ducali during the January transfer window, with players still outraged over their unpaid salaries.
“I did not know that the players were in arrears for six months because salaries having not been paid,” Rodriguez explained to Calciomercato.it.
“I thought there were only problems with the poor run of results at the club.
“However, now we are in this predicament and we have to fight until the end of the season and avoid relegation.”
Strugglers Parma are currently sitting bottom of the Serie A standings, having accumulated nine points, after one point was deducted by the Italian Football Federation due to continuing financial problems.
