Donati Pagliari, the agent of former Inter full-back Giulio Donati has launched a scathing attack on Inter and how the club too easily gives up on its young players.

Donati moved to Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, after Inter opted not to retain the then 21-year-old following his loan return from Serie B side Grosseto.

Pagliari has blamed Inter for too easily giving up on Donati, despite the Italian right-back having been a finalist at the U-21 European Championships.

“Two years ago Donati played in Serie B, then played well at the European Championship, but it was Bayer Leverkusen who noticed him,” Pagliari said to Tuttosport.

“Now the [Italy] national team no longer consider him because he went to play elsewhere.

“As for Inter, [what they did with] Donati is the typical example of their lack of courage with youngsters.

“Inter have neither Zambrotta or Tassotti at right-back, and yet they still overlook their young players; abroad, young players are more appreciated.”

Donati has made 23 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen since moving to Germany, as well as six UEFA Champions League appearances.
