Former Parma defender Felipe has launched an attack on his former club claiming that former owner Tommaso Ghirardi failed to keep his promises.

The Brazilian followed Antonio Cassano in terminating his contract by mutual consent on deadline day after the club failed to pay any wages to players or staff since July.

“The more time passed the more I understood that the situation was getting worse,” the 30-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We were told to be quiet, but the months have passed without anything changing.

“I have decided to leave suddenly on Saturday morning, I got up and I called [director general] Pietro Leonardi to inform him of my decision.

“I currently have a couple of offers in Italy and abroad, but I do not know what awaits me.

“Anyway I want emphasize the fact that I do not leave Parma for money, the problem is that this is a continuous joke.

“Ghirardi? He has not behaved properly or kept its promises and then he left us on the street.

“What I am most sorry about is the situation for employees at the club.

“I am lucky and can do without for a couple a months, however they cannot and that is serious.”
